Our Stirling Weekend took place on the 3rd June 2017 and gave us a chance to meet with other A Cappella choruses and to be coached by different Musical Directors. We also hoped to have a lot of fun and experience the lovely setting at Stirling University which was indeed the case. Albacappella and Tartan Harmony joined us for our sessions and greatly added to the success of the weekend. Nick our own Musical Director had initiated the weekend and we are indebted to all members of the Committees without whom this venture would not have happened and the coaches who gave up their time to come along for the day.
Mike Warner was our first Vocal Coach of the morning, working on "Lullabye" to improve our sound quality and feeling for the music. He gave us lots to think about during the session.
David Sangster, our second Vocal Coach for the day, worked with us on "It Don't Mean a Thing if it Ain't got that Swing" giving us lots of ideas to improve smoothness and rhythm in our performance of this song.
There was time in the late afternoon for some quartet coaching followed by performances from the choirs and quartets to finish the day.
The fun continued for those staying overnight with a meal at the Jam Jar Restaurant, Bridge of Allan and a night of song and laughter in the Halls of Residence lounge area.
