After last year's successful Christmas busking in Kelso, it was time for Galashiels to hear our festive repertoire as the chorus took over Tesco's entrance area on Friday afternoon. We sang a mix of traditional carols alongside some of our barbershop favourites. When our time at Tesco was up it was onto the Interchange for a quick coffee at Born in the Borders and more singing to lift the spirits of weary travellers as they waited for buses and trains to arrive. We put a smile on some faces, others joined in and we even inspired some fancy footwork and a wonderful light show from a young lad with amazing trainers! It felt great to have such a good response.
On Saturday it was Galashiels again with a spot of singing outside the Old Post Office in Channel Street. There was a great atmosphere as we joined Santa, market stalls and a bouncy castle as part of the Energise Galashiels project along with the local Rotary Club..
Thank you to all who supported our efforts and helped us raise an amazing amount of £188 which will help fund our entry to the Ladies Accapella Barbershop Competition in Harrogate in October 2018.
Thanks to everyone for your support and Merry Christmas one and all.
